Cost Efficiency Saving Ideas

In accordance with Texas Government Code, Section 2054.1264, each state agency that has 1,500 or more employees is required to provide employees of the agency with an opportunity to submit suggestions and ideas on how to make the agency more cost-efficient. Employees can elect to submit a suggestion or idea that includes the employee's name or they may submit an anonymous suggestion or idea. On a quarterly basis, these suggestions are required to be posted on the agency's generally accessible Internet website in a manner that will allow members of the public to monitor the submissions made and vote for the public's favorite cost-savings suggestion or idea.

Idea Survey Agency Action

Instead of providing a hard copy of csrp (Child Support Review Process) order at the end of the meeting, we could email it to customers if they prefer. In the long run we could save lots of trees and cut down on office supply cost.

Idea Survey Agency Action

Convert the courier slip into electronic e-mail form. It would save the secretary's time in filling out the form. It would remove the need to have a courier manning the phone all day when he/she could be out making deliveries.
The e-mail could go directly to the leading courier's phone and he would assign the incoming requests. The comptroller's couriers work in a similar manner.

Determined idea was not a cost-saving measure.
