Child Support Evader: James Bryant

CHILD SUPPORT EVADER JAMES BRYANT Owes: $10,683 Last Address: Austin, TX Occupation: Construction Born: 05/18/57 Height: 6' 2" Weight: 220 Color of Eyes: Blue Color of Hair: Blonde Race: Caucasian Attorney General Greg Abbott needs your help to find Child Support Evader James Bryant, who owes $10,683 in unpaid child support for the care of one daughter. Bryant was named a Child Support Evader in May 2003, and has gone underground to elude officials and willfully avoid arrest on his Attorney General child support case. When he divorced in 1987, a Williamson County judge ordered Bryant to make child support payments of $250 a month. Bryant refused to make his payments, and by October 2000 he owed $6,262. On October 13, 2000, an arrest warrant was issued after Bryant failed to appear at a court hearing to address his failure to pay child support. Due to missed payments and interest that accrues on past due child support, Bryant now owes more than $10,000. Bryant may be hiding in the Austin area, and is most likely working for cash to avoid garnishment of wages to pay child support. Bryant uses a relative's address in Cedar Park as a mail drop. Contact the Attorney General's Office at 1-866-EVADERS (382-3377) to report information that may lead to the arrest of James Bryant. The Child Support Evaders on the top ten list are being singled out because they have the ability to take responsibility for their children, but refuse to do so. Incarceration is the only option for parents who flagrantly ignore a court's order to pay child support. The Attorney General's Office helps parents who lack the ability to pay child support by referring them to job training and employment services.
