Cynthia Roach from the Tyler child support office to be honored

AUSTIN - Texas Attorney General John Cornyn announced today that Cynthia Roach has been named the Office of the Attorney General (OAG) northeast Texas employee of the year. Roach works in the Attorney General's child support office in Tyler.

Roach will be honored at a reception hosted by the Northeast Texas Regional Inter-agency Council (NETRIC) from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Friday, October 13th, at the Whatley Center for Performing Arts on the campus of North East Texas Community College in Mt. Pleasant.

Employees from the Texas Department of Health, Texas Department of Human Services, Texas Department of Criminal Justice-Parole Division, Region VIII Educational Service Center, Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services, Texas State Soil and Water Conservation Board, Ark-Tex Council of Governments and Texas Rehabilitation Commission will also be honored.

Roach has been employed by the State of Texas since 1989 and has worked for the OAG since 1993. She serves as the unit secretary for the Tyler child support field office and handles many administrative matters such as money handling, archiving records and maintaining the office's personnel files. Her manager and colleagues praise her efficiency and dedication to helping the children of Texas receive the support they need and deserve.

Roach has been married to her husband David for 24 years. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her two children, reading, cooking and watching movies.

NETRIC is comprised of state agency representatives from the nearly 30-county area of northeast Texas. The council promotes the effective and efficient delivery of services through interagency cooperation. One goal of the council is to inform citizens about the dedicated workers in Texas state agencies and the valuable services they provide. Additionally, the council seeks to encourage interest in public service careers. In keeping with this goal, sponsoring agencies will have informational displays at the recognition ceremony to acquaint the public with the services and programs provided by the State of Texas.
