Mr. Ajay R. Shah
Assistant City Attorney
Office of the City Attorney
Municipal Building
Dallas, Texas 75201

Dear Mr. Shah:

You ask whether certain information is subject to required public disclosure under chapter 552 of the Government Code. Your request was assigned ID# 121118.

The Dallas Police Department received a request for crime statistics for 1445 Ross Avenue, Dallas, Texas. You indicate that the responsive information includes a report listing 911 service calls to the subject address. You claim that portions of the service call sheets are excepted from required public disclosure by section 552.101 of the Government Code.

We believe that a prior ruling, Open Records Letter No. 98-2551 (1998), answers your question concerning originating telephone numbers and addresses on 911 call reports. You may rely upon Open Records Letter No. 2551 (enclosed) as a previous determination on this issue under section 552.301 of the Government Code, and thus, need not ask this office again for a decision concerning these types of records.

If you have any questions about this ruling, please contact our office.

Yours very truly,

Don Ballard
Assistant Attorney General
Open Records Division
