Ms. Katheryn H. West
Dear Ms. West:
You ask whether certain information is subject to required public disclosure under the Texas Open Records Act, chapter 552 of the Government Code. Your request was assigned ID# 121430.
The City of Dallas Police Department (the "department") received a request for the call sheets relating to a specific address. The requestor also seeks the record of an arrest that occurred at the same location. You only seek to withhold the originating addresses and telephone numbers of 911 calls from the police call sheets under section 552.101 of the Government Code. We assume that you have released the remaining requested information. You have provided for our review the information at issue.
A prior ruling, Open Records Letter No. 98-2551 (1998), answers your question concerning originating telephone numbers and addresses on 911 call sheets. You may rely upon that prior ruling as a previous determination on this issue under section 552.301 of the Government Code and thus need not ask this office again for a decision concerning these types of records.
We are resolving this matter with an informal letter ruling rather than with a published open records decision. This ruling is limited to the particular records at issue under the facts presented to us in this request and should not be relied on as a previous determination regarding any other records. If you have any questions regarding this ruling, please contact our office.
Yours very truly,
June B. Harden
