Description
The City of Huntsville has experienced a cybersecurity incident that has impacted our computer systems. We became aware of the cybersecurity incident on October 21, 2022. The City took immediate steps to protect our environment, including disconnecting certain functionality to protect against any further harm.
We immediately commenced an investigation with outside cybersecurity and data security professionals. The investigation is in the early stages and is ongoing. We are trying to remove and all infections from our system. Email addresses have been restored for only a few Directors at this time. Since approximately 9:00 am on 10/21/2022 employees have not had access to computers, servers, programs, or data which makes it impossible for us to respond to any request for Public Information.
